GOOD TROUBLE LIVES ON: FREDERICK MD

SAVE THE DATE: Causing good trouble ain't easy :) We're currently confirming location details. Once we have secured a permit, we will update the event details with an address. Read on for more information about this event.

Good Trouble Lives On is a national day of nonviolent action to respond to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration and to remind them that in America, the power lies with the people.

On July 17, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing, we’re taking action across the country to defend our democracy and carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble.

From voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest, the Trump administration is launching a full-scale attack on our civil and human rights. But we know the truth: in America, the power lies with the people, and we’re rising to prove it.

This is more than a protest; it’s a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead, and a new front in the struggle for freedom.

Let's rally together for an evening of speakers that will build our knowledge base around civil and human rights. Join us!

Please note: A core principle behind our Good Trouble Lives On actions is a commitment to nonviolence in all we do. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Healthcare Not Warfare Sign Wave

Over the weekend, Donald Trump unilaterally made a decision to enter a war in the Middle East while we're struggling to ensure the overall welfare of 16 million Americans living under Medicaid and Medicare today.

Instead of keeping all of us safe, he’s decided to line the pockets of weapons manufacturers. No one voted for blank checks for bombs, zero oversight, and more forever wars. We voted for access to good, quality healthcare -- no matter who you are or where you're from.

Join us for a rally at our local hospital to show your support for Medicaid, Medicare and SNAP benefits for all.

Four Days on the Road! (in support of 12 Days to Democracy!)

Wednesday June 25 | 5:30 am

Thursday June 26 | 5:30 am

Friday June 27 | 5:00 am

Saturday, June 28 | 5:00 am

Meet at Weiss

6093 Spring Ridge Pkwy

As many of you have probably heard, a twelve-day protest march from Philadelphia to Washington DC is planned for later this month! Full details can be found at: Democracy12.

Indivisible Frederick MD is planning to take part in the final days of the march! Come on, let's Make History Together! We plan to be taking part in this amazing moment on June 25th through the 28th! Details on the route can be found here: Democracy12 Route.

Some of us will march, while others will be operating our cars as support vehicles for marchers. There is an option to sleep out with the marchers if you like, but we plan to commute to the start point each morning, and to return to Frederick each evening. Meals are being provided by the march organizers.

The average walking distance will only be about ten miles per day, so the pace will be slow. Be sure to bring ample water, snacks, a change of socks, any medications you might need, comfortable shoes or boots you can walk in, your charged phone and a means to recharge it (if you have one), a broad-brimmed hat, rain gear, sunglasses, sunscreen, and so on! Break out your signs!

Our support vehicle (on the days when it is operating) will be stocked with bottled water, snacks, a large first-aid kit with special attention paid to treatments for sore feet and sunburn, sunscreen, clean socks, hand sanitizer, wipes, umbrellas, extra sign-making supplies, etc.

Walk a little or a lot; walk one day or four (or twelve!); walk or drive a support vehicle but come and be part of this incredible attempt to show the nation and the world that we are On the Move!

The route for June 25-28

Wed, Jun 25 | 7.2 miles Ellicot City to Columbia

Thu, Jun 26 | 13 miles Columbia to Laurel

Fri, Jun 27 | 10.8 miles Laurel to Adelphi

Sat, Jun 28 | 11.2 miles Adelphia to Franklin Park in Washington, DC

No Kings! Flag Day Rally Frederick

No Kings! Flag Day Rally Frederick

In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings.

NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.

🚨On Saturday, June 14, we’re rallying at Mullinex Park to celebrate the American Flag and our freedom. We'll focus on the rich history of our flag with speeches, community art and hearing about what the American flag means to YOU. What we won't be focusing on? Trump. We're leaving him behind!🚨

Wear your red, white and blue. Bring your best American flag signs and a canned good donation for Dems Help.

IMPORTANT NOTES: This event is co-hosted by Frederick County Democratic Committee, Rise Up Frederick, and Indivisible Frederick Coalition. By Authority: FCDCC, McCamie Patterson, Treasurer. A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to peaceful, nonviolent action. Violence or hate speech of any kind will not be tolerated. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

D-Day Support Our Vets (Sign-Waving Event)

Veterans sacrificed their lives and time with their families to keep us safe. When our armed forces showed up on the beaches of Normandy, they were showing up to protect the freedom of so many (both American and European alike). Now its time for us to protect them.

The Trump regime has been slowly dismantling Vet services. Veteran jobs, healthcare, and essential VA services are under attack. On D-Day, join us in support of our local vets by waving signs in our community.

Location information will be shared via email with those who register one week prior to the event

May Day Rally

  • 101 North Court Street Frederick, MD, 21701 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

This May Day, we are standing united.

We're organizing for a world where every family has housing, healthcare, fair wages, union protection, and safety - regardless of race, zip code, or immigration status. We are reclaiming our power from corporate elites, and we will not be intimidated by Trump, Musk, or their billionaire backers. Their time is up.

STOP THE BILLIONAIRE TAKEOVER. WE ARE THE MANY. THEY ARE THE FEW. THIS IS MAY DAY. JOIN US.

We're trying something a little different for this event. We will meet up at 3 different locations and take a solidarity stride toward Baker Park. So, at 6:00 pm, meet our organizers at one of these 3 locations:

1. Corner of Dill and College Avenue

2. City Hall

3. 263 W. Patrick Street

We plan to arrive at Baker Park around 6:30pm where there will be food, speeches focused on the importance of May Day, and community! We will also have resources to connect for mutual aid, too. Let's show up and take a stand together!
